71/2 Lifelong learning habits

So, after watching the presentation on 7 1/2 Lifelong learning habits, I sat down and assessed the difficulty and ease of each habit. Honestly, the last few relating to technology, locating materials, playing and teaching/mentoring others were all easy. I like play and think it is essential to life. I like working with others and sharing tacit knowledge. As for locating materials that would provide the information for learning, I've actually been rather lucky as a librarian to learn some of the methods and tools to best access information. As for the technology, I love gadgets.

The more difficult ones tended to deal more with motivation, goals, taking responsibility and turning the perception of problems into challenges. The most difficult one would have to be the one I just mentioned: viewing problems as challenges. It’s sometimes difficult to view problems as challenges when you’re in the middle of a problem. In retrospect, you are often able to reflect and see how you have learned and benefited from a situation. Looking outside the problem and viewing it in a positive light (as a learning challenge) is just sometimes difficult.
